Security tightened in Birgunj preceding arrival of Prez Bhandari

BIRGUNJ: Security has been tightened in Birgunj area in view of arrival of President Bidya Devi Bhandari this afternoon in course of inaugurating the yoga camp to be organised from Thursday.

Senior Superintendent of Police at Parsa District Police Office, Rajubabu Shrestha said that security has been beefed up at border check points and different thoroughfares in Birgunj.

Security personnel have been mobilised after making a joint security plan by incorporating Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army targeting the arrival of President Bhandari and Baba Ramdev. Similarly, hotels in Birgunj have been kept under surveillance for security concern during five-day yoga camp.

Chief District Officer of Parsa, Keshav Prasad Ghimire said that President Bhandari is also scheduled to worship at Gadhimai Temple in Bara district today itself.

President Bhandari on Thursday will inaugurate the yoga camp at Adarshanagar Stadium in Birgunj and the Patanjali Ayurved Pvt Ltd at Prasauni-2 in Bara.

According to the District Security Committee, President Bhandari will return to Kathmandu on Thursday itself.
