Service seekers hit in Rolpa offices
ROLPA: District dwellers are yet again forced to bear the brunt of the yearly factor as most of the office chiefs, along with other staffers, have gone out of the district after closing the last fiscal year’s programme.
Official chores of the local residents cannot be executed in the lack of authoritative government employees.
Government officials said it has been a routine activity prevalent in the offices of the chiefs leaving the district after the completion the fiscal year. They hurried to submit the progress report in the end of the fiscal and leave the district.
The trend has left only peons in some of the offices.
According to District Administration Office, the office chiefs have not informed their respective offices formally. Most of the staffers stay in leave without formal permission from their offices.
Saradchandra Shrestha, chief of District Agriculture Office, chief of District Forest Office Pashupatinath Koirala, chief of District Livestock Office Nandalal Chaduhari and chief of Drinking Water Office Lok Bahadur Chaulagain, including others, are not found in their workplaces.
Human Right activists and coordinator of civil society in the district, Ghanashyam Acharya, said they urged the DAO to look into the matter.
During the monitoring conducted by the local administration, it was found that more than two dozen staffers, including two office chiefs, found absent for a long time.
When asked, office staffers said they too did not know about the absence of their chiefs.
The office chiefs, if they have to leave the district for more than a week, have to inform the Chief District Officer, for permission.
