KATHMANDU, JANUARY 2
A passenger bus skidded off the road in Ribdikot Rural Municipality-2 of Palpa killing seven people and injuring eight others on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at 10:30 am when the bus (Lu 1 Kha 7279) en route to Ridi from Butwal lost control and fell 60 metres below the road in Laghuwa, killing seven people on the spot, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rameshwor Twati at District Police Office, Palpa, as quoted in Rastriya Samachar Samiti.
The identities of those who died have yet to be determined.
Police with the help of locals carried out the rescue operation.
Eight people had been taken to a hospital in Tansen for treatment, informed police.
