Siraha flood victims finding respite

Local politicians and various organisations provided relief materials to flood victims in Siraha today.

CPN-MC local leader Prakash Mahaseth provided tarpaulin, mosquito nets and various food items to around 100 flood victims of Itariparsahi, in Kalyanpur Rural Municipality-3, Siraha.

Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal Siraha district financial department chief Ram Narayan Yadav also provided food items and utensils to flood victims.

Similarly, representatives of the Dhulikhel Hospital provided clothes and utensils to victims through District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee.

They also handed over around 400 types of medicines to the district health office, and organised a daylong health camp catering to over 150 patients here today.

Likewise, Siraha Municipality provided 400kg beaten rice, 100kg puffed rice and noodles to the flood victims of Basabitti.

Similarly, Sukhipur Municipality also provided relief to the victims in the municipality.

Over 2,000 families in 25 places in the district were affected by floods.

Meanwhile, District Public Health Office, Siraha, has urged locals to consume drinking water only after treating it with chlorine or other purifiers, citing the recent flood and possible contamination.
