Six executive committee members of the Cricket Association of Nepal on Tuesday demanded the resignation of leadership and then boycotted the board meeting in Pokhara.
The group - Rishi Ram Gautam, Daud Ansari, Sanjay Raj Singh, Karan Mahatara Chhetry, Amit Bir Pandey and Chhumbi Lama - had also demanded the resignation of CAN leadership at a press meet in Kathmandu on Sunday and they handed over a letter to President Chatur Bahadur Chand before the board Six CAN board members boycott meeting meeting on Tuesday.
They have accused the five-member working committee - Chand, acting secretary Prashant Bikram Malla, treasurer Roshan Bahadur Singh, and members Durga Raj Pathak and Padam Khadka - of keeping the executive committee in the dark regarding the signing of Seven3Sports as the strategic and commercial partner of the NepalT20 Cricket League.
The board meeting could not get under way after the boycott from six executive members, but President Chand started the meeting after hours of failed efforts to bring them to the meeting.
The board meeting, first after the NepalT20, was scheduled to discuss 17 agendas, including the controversial tournament, lifting the suspension of former national team skipper Sandeep Lamichhane, hosting of the ACC Premier Cup in April, reports from Central Investigation Bureau and National Sports Council, amendment of bylaws, annual general assembly, and central contract of national teams.
