Skeleton of missing man found in Terhathum community forest after nine months

TERHATHUM: A skeleton of a person, who had gone missing for the past nine months, has been found in a community forest in Tehrathum district.

The skeleton of Padam Bahadur Limbu (68) of Sabla in Myanglung Municipality-9 was found at Patlechaur Community Forest in Myanglung Municipality-6, according to the Officiating Chief at the District Police Office, Police Inspector Basudev Yadav.

Police Inspector Yadav said that the skeleton of Limbu was identified on the basis of his shirt, slippers, jacket, and citizenship certificate found inside the pocket of the jacket.

Locals informed police after they came across the skeleton on Monday evening, police said.

Police Inspector Yadav said that preparation was underway to hand over the body remains to the family after reaching the incident site this morning.

Limbu's family had filed a complaint of the missing person at the police station. Limbu was apparently suffering from mental illness.
