Severe cold due to snow and rain has crippled life here in the far eastern hilly district.

The snowfall has especially hit the northern parts of the district.

The locals have been locked up inside their houses while the cattle do not venture out of their sheds. Heavy snowfall has adversely affected the locals and their daily routines has been rendered haywire, said Pasang Sherpa, a local of Ghunsa.

The weather is so cold that people here could not even cook their food, he added. The snowfall has crippled life in Ghunsa, Olangchungola, Yangma and Fale.
