Six-year collection supports retirement, medical and disability claims
KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 24
The Social Security Fund has collected Rs 95.44 billion from contributors since its establishment six years ago, according to fund officials.
The amount was collected from 2.64 million contributors across 22,309 listed enterprises.
The fund has settled Rs 17.64 billion in claims to date, comprising Rs 2.51 billion for medical expenses, Rs 228.6 million for accidents and disabilities, and Rs 290.7 million under the dependent family security scheme.
More than Rs 14.6 billion was disbursed for retirement claims.
Fund effectiveness has improved following a requirement for foreign migrant workers to participate in the contribution-based social security system.
