Life Insurance Corporation, private companies contribute to Gen-Z protest damage relief
KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 24
The Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund has received Rs 93 million as of Sunday, with contributions from Life Insurance Corporation Nepal and private sector companies.
Life Insurance Corporation Nepal CEO Pranaya Kumar handed over Rs 10.1 million to Finance Minister Rameshwore Prasad Khanal on Sunday. Employees of F1 Soft International, E-Sewa and Fonepay Payment Service Limited contributed Rs 7.5 million.
The fund was established to reconstruct physical structures damaged during arson and vandalism on September 8 and 9 during Gen-Z protests.
A bank account has been opened at Rastriya Banijya Bank, Singha Durbar branch to receive contributions.
The government has appealed to provincial and local governments, the private sector, citizens, diaspora and international organizations for support.
