Sushil tells Maoists to mend ways

Nuwakot, August 23:

Vice president of the Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala has urged the Maoists to “put an end to atrocities to pave the way for constituent assembly polls.”

Inaugurating a two-day camp organised by Nuwakot district committee of Nepali Congress at Bidur today, he said that the Nepali Congress will not support the monarchy. He accused the Maoists of disrupting his party’s programmes.

Finance Minister and a central member of the Nepali Congress Dr Ram Sharan Mahat said, “In the government, the Maoists behave as if they are the opposition and talk of taking physical action.”

Another NC central member Arjun Narsingh KC said it was helplessness on the part of the government to set those who looted arms from the Fikuri police post free. The government has failed to make people feel secure, he said.
