Technicians dispatched to airports in Sudurpaschim province
DHANGADHI: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has dispatched technicians to three airports in Sudurpaschim Province.
The CAAN dispatched air traffic controllers' team to the airports in Patan, Baitadi district; in Dipayal, Doti district and Deval, Bajhang district to resume the operation of air services, according to chief of Dhangadhi Airport, Tej Bahadur Budha Thapa.
The technician-team will work on carrying out the flight operations using VHF system as the towers among other devices are yet to be installed in these airports.
Meanwhile, Summit Air that conducted the test flight on October 3, has prepared to conduct regular flights from these airports. Summit will conduct flights to these airports with Dhangadhi Airport as the base.
Meanwhile, Summit Air has been conducting charted flights from Dhangadhi to Bajura.
Representative of Summit Air, Sudurpaschim, Harka Malla informed that a flight will be operated from Dhangadhi Airport to Bajhang on Tuesday. He said it has been prepared to conduct chartered flights to Baitadi and Doti. "However, it has yet to finalise the flights due to a few passengers to those destinations," Malla said.
The airfare for Dhangadhi-Bajhang flight has been fixed at Rs 5,048 per passenger and Rs 3,802 for Dhangadhi-Baitadi.
The airlines has yet to set the airfare for Dhangadhi-Doti flight.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai had inaugurated the test flights at the airports in hilly districts.
