Tharuhat/Tharuwan Committee to continue protests till statute amendment
KATHMANDU: The Tharuhat/Tharuwan Joint Struggle Committee has decided to continue its protests till its concerns are addressed in an amendment to the new constitution.
It issued a press release today after reviewing its ongoing protests at a meeting recently held in Dalla VDC of Kailai district today.
The Committee thanked all who contributed to their protests for last 47 days.
Meanwhile, the Committee expressed its dissatisfaction on the Constituent Assembly’s failure to establish Tharuhat/Tharuwan autonomous state. The move pushed them into further minority and a “political slavery” for interest of some leaders, according to the Committee.
The Committee also extended its support to other parties and groups protesting against the new constitution, including protests organised at Indo-Nepal border points and highways.
