HETAUDA: Police in Makawanpur have initiated proceedings over a third gender’s involvement in attempted rape. In connection with the rape attempt by twenty-four-year-old Ajaya, identifying himself as Ajita Bhujel, on a minor, aged 8, police have launched investigation seeking a week’s date from the district court. Bhujel of Hetauda sub-metropolis-11, who is affiliated to Blue Diamond Society, an organisation for third gender and homosexuals, had tried to rape a minor of Hetauda Submetropolis-4 at her own house on August 23. The attempt was foiled after the girl protested and screamed. According to DSP Shishu Sharma, Bhujel was detained on the basis of the FIR filed by the victim’s family. Just six months ago, Bhujel had procured a citizenship certificate identifying himself as third gender from Makawanpur District Administration Office.
