Thousands of patients treated

Since its establishment about two-and-a-half years ago, the eye centre set up at Damauli Hospital has treated over 22,000 eye patients.

According to the chief of the centre Tasbiran Nisha, 150 patients diagnosed with cataract were referred to Himalayan Eye Hospital of Gharipatan, Pokhara, for necessary surgery.

“If it is minor problem, they’re treated here otherwise, we send them to Pokhara,” she said, revealing about preparations to upgrade the centre with the assistance of Damauli Hospital, Lions Club of Tanahun and Himalayan Eye Hospital.
