Rautahat, March 30:

Fire engulfed three houses at Gohani VDC in Rautahat district today. The fire, that broke from the house of Mukhalal Pattel, also destroyed the neighbouring houses belonging to Sudhir Pattel and Dhruba Pattel. Rautahat district police office said the fire spread from the kitchen in the house. Property worth more Rs 100,000 was destroyed in the fire, police said. A fire engine from Gaur, Debahi based Armed Police Force personnel and the locals doused the fire after an hour.

Meanwhile, a report from Sankhuwasawa said fire that broke out in a house belonging to Dewan Rai in Khadbari municipality-4 gutted property worth three lakh rupees yesterday night.

The fire took place at 11 pm while all of the family members were sleeping, police said, adding, goods like clothes, jewellry, foodstuff and important documents were gutted.

No human casualty occurred in the incident, police said, adding that locals controlled the fire in two hours.
