BHOJPUR: Three minors were killed and two others sustained injuries after a bolt of lightning struck them at a playground in Koshi Haraicha-1 of Morang district in eastern Nepal on Monday.

Police identified the deceased as Chirak Khulal (13), Rahul Subba (12) and Sandesh Urau (12) from Koshi Haraicha-1.

Meanwhile, Roshan Bhattarai (10) and Ananda Bhattarai (10) were injured in the incident.

Police said lightning bolt fell upon the children while they were playing at a local playground around 1:55 pm.

According to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar, the seriously injured duo have been undergoing treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
