After reading a news item in The Himalayan Times about a destitute family living under a peepal tree in Nepalgunj, staffers of Triyog Secondary School, Battisputali, have come forward with a helping hand to the family.

The school handed Rs 2,775 over to the The Himalayan Times to be provided to the homeless family. The money was collected from teachers. "It is a self-motivated donation from our teachers," said Swagata Deb, principal of the school. Rajat Bose, academic coordinator of the school, said that the staffers were encouraged to help the family after reading the news published in THT.
