KATHMANDU, MAY 2

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal has tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

Former Health Minister Dhakal took to twitter to announce that he had contracted the infection along with his wife. Similarly, Dhakal also shared that both of them are in sound health and were in isolation at their residence.

Dhakal also appealed those who had recently come in contact with him to take the necessary precautions and safety measures.

Cases of the infection continue to rise at an alarming rate in Nepal as the nation grapples with the second wave of the pandemic.

Many high profile Nepali leaders and celebrities are no exception to the infection. Recently, senior leader of the ruling CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal, incumbent Ministers Mani Thapa and Top Bahadur Rayamahi, former King Gyanendra Bikram Shah and former Queen Komal Shah, veteran actor Madan Krishna Shrestha among others too had tested positive for the infection.
