PARBAT, OCTOBER 15
Tourists from both within Nepal and abroad have flocked to various touristic destinations in Myagdi during this Dashain festival, seeking to make the most of their holiday season. The district has become a popular choice for those looking to spend quality time amidst scenic landscapes and adventure activities.
The development of new tourism infrastructure, such as a bungee jump, zip line, and the tallest and longest suspension bridge in the country, has significantly boosted the area's appeal. Currently, over 1,000 domestic tourists are visiting Myagdi on a daily basis.
Local hotelier Suresh KC reported that hotels in Kushma Bazar are fully booked, hosting a mix of domestic and international guests. The region's growing selection of luxury accommodations is attracting visitors, including those en route to Mustang, who prefer to make a stopover.
In addition to leisure tourists, educational groups from Chitawan, Biratnagar, Hetauda, Dolakha, Nepalgunj, Bardiya, Dang, Butwal, and Kapilvastu have also made their way to Myagdi during the holiday season.
Operators of adventure activities such as bungee jumping and zip lining are experiencing a surge in demand, with bookings often made a week in advance. Sunil Singh Baniya, an operator at The Adventure Resort, noted that Fridays and Saturdays see a larger number of visitors. Similarly, Raju Karki, a cliff operator, highlighted the increase in foreign tourists participating in bungee jumping, swinging, rock climbing, and other adventure sports this year.
