BHOJPUR: Transport entrepreneurs halted vehicular services for an indefinite period in Bhojpur, stating poor road conditions due to rain and negligence of contractors in upgrading the Leguwa-Bhojpur road section.

Transport entrepreneur Gopal Tamang said that they had to shut down the services as contractors have piled up construction materials on multiple places of Leguwa-Bhojpur road section in the name of blacktopping it.

Such haphazard storage of construction materials on roadsides has made the vehicular movement really difficult mainly in this rainy season, he said.

Meanwhile, Bhojpur Chief District Officer Arjun Kumar Sharma pledged to take all possible measures to reopen the transport services.

The closure of transport services in the eastern hilly district where flights are also not regular is going to hit the people hard.

Meanwhile, vehicular movement along the Pasang Lhamu Highway has been obstructed since Monday night due to landslides.

According to the District Police Office, Bhojpur, the landslides had blocked the Highway at Mulkharka of Ramche VDC-1 and near Rasuwagadi of Timure VDC-1.

With this, the Keyirong trade route between Nepal and China has also remained closed.

According to Krishna Prasad Adhikarim, Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, efforts are on to remove the debris and resume the traffic services.
