Transport strike in far-west hits hundreds
Mahendranagar, Sept 13 :
Traffic came to a halt in the far-western region today and hundreds of passengers were stranded in Mahendranagar after the Far-western Transport Coordination Committee called a strike.
The strike was called following a discord between the family of a child, who was killed in a road mishap at Krishnapur on September 3, and transport entrepreneurs on the amount of compensation, sources at the committee said. The strike will continue till the victimised family agrees to accept the amount of compensation as provisioned by existing rules, said Gorakh Bahadur KC, office chief of the Mahakali Seti Bus and Minibus Entrepreneurs’ Committee.
