Two arrested with deer's carcass in Kaski

POKHARA: The District Police Office, Kaski, on Friday reportedly arrested two persons in possession of a deer's carcass.

The arrested have been identified as Jivan Gurung of Pokhara-8 and Bikash Gurung of Pokhara–3.

Police said the duo Gurung were arrested while they were transporting the dead deer from Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality to Pokhara by a jeep (Ba 17 Cha 2878).

The carcass was hidden inside the vehicle, said police.

The carcass has been handed over to the Kaski District Forest Office.

The alleged poachers will be tried under the National Park and Wildlife Act 1973, said police.
