BAJURA, JULY 21

Two people injured in a jeep accident in Bajura's Himali Rural Municipality on Monday have died while undergoing treatment, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Dharma Lal Budha, 40, of Himali Rural Municipality-2, and Ammar Singh Budha, around 40, of Tajakot Rural Municipality-5 in Humla. Both succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at Kolti Primary Hospital, according to the District Police Office, Bajura.

The accident occurred at around 1:25 pm on Monday when a jeep (Su Pa Pra 01-001 Ja 1878) travelling from Dhulachaur to Dudhila Khola lost control on the Kuwadi-Kyudi inner road section in Himali Rural Municipality-5. The vehicle reportedly veered off an upper bend and fell about 10 metres onto a lower section of the road.

Seven injured passengers are undergoing treatment at Kolti Primary Hospital. They include driver Janbir Budha, 25, and Mizra Budha, 31, both from Himali Rural Municipality-2, as well as Asmita Thapa, 20, Jung Singh Budha, 28, Gorakh Rokaya, 20, Lokendra Budha, 27, and nine-year-old Susma Budha, all residents of Tajakot Rural Municipality-5 in Humla.

Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
