Two children missing in Myagdi river

POKHARA: Two children have gone missing after being swept away while playing on the banks of Myagdi river near Beni, the district headquarters of Myagdi.

They were swept away by the river around 4:00 pm on Tuesday after they went to the banks after school to play.

The missing boys have been identified as Pradeep Roka (8) of Beni Municipality-3 and David Kauchha (8) of Baglung, currently residing in Beni-3. According to Spokesperson at Myagdi District Police Office, Police Inspector Laxman Devkota, search is going on for the missing children.

He further informed that it has been challenging to find them due to continuous rainfall throughout the night which has increased the water-level and because the river water flows into the larger Kaligandaki river.

Police have mobilised their teams at various places along Myagdi and Kaligandaki rivers to find the missing boys.
