Two hurt as LPG cylinder explodes in Pokhara

POKHARA: Two persons were injured when a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder exploded in a house near Pokhara Industrial Area in Pokhara Metropolitan City-10, Kaski district, on Wednesday evening.

The injured have been identified as Vijay Regmi (22) and his elder sister-in-law Sita Regmi (26) of Jaljala Rural Municipality in Parbat district.

According to Kaski District Police Office, the stove was burning and was in use when suddenly the LPG cylinder connecting to it started leaking and caught fire just before exploding, at around 8:00 pm yesterday.

Of the injured, Vijay is said to be in critical condition.

Locals doused the fire ignited from the explosion of the cylinder.

Meanwhile, the injured are receiving treatment at Western Regional Hospital in Pokhara.

The duo have been living in rented rooms in the house belonging to Ganga Sapkota.
