TAPLEJUNG: Two people were seriously injured when a house caught fire after being hit by a lightning here on Monday morning.

According to a local Dhanendra Maden, the house owner Krishna Sapkota and his daughter-in-law Ambika were injured in the incident.

The house of Krishna Sapkota in Ambote of Taplejung Municipality-3 came across the abrupt discharge of electricity from the sky, and caught fire at around 5:30 am today. The thatched-roof house was completely gutted in the fire.

Both of the injured are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital in Taplejung.
