Kavre, March 18

At least two persons died on the spot and 29 others were injured when a passenger bus met with an accident at Saintis Kilo of Panchkhal Municipality in Kavre today.

According to District Police Office, Kavre, Susma BK, in her late twenties of Dandakhara, Dolakha and the driver’s helper Muskan died on the spot. The bus was heading for Kathmandu from Melung of Dolakha.

Police said that the bus, which was trying to overtake a tractor, hit a motorcycle coming from opposite direction and fell some 20 meters down the road.

Of the injured, two critically injured were referred to Orthopedic Hospital, Kathmandu for the further treatment while others are receiving treatment at Dhulikhel Hospital.

According to District Traffic Police, the driver of the bus-Durga Shrestha of Mahadevsthan, Kavre, who was also injured in the accident, has been receiving treatment in Dhulikhel Hospital. Investigation into the accident is under way, said police.
