SARLAHI, SEPTEMBER 16

Two men were killed and two others seriously injured after two motorcycles collided in Kabilasi Municipality-7 of Sarlahi district on Tuesday evening.

According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, the accident occurred at around 5:45pm when a motorcycle travelling from Kabilasi towards Gair collided with another coming from the opposite direction along the Nawalpur–Malangwa road section.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Sumit Yadav of Godaita Municipality-6, who was riding a Madhesh Province 03-033 Pa 7824 motorcycle, and 26-year-old Pappu Paswan of Kabilasi Municipality-8, who was riding a BR 30 AP 1224 motorcycle. Both were taken unconscious to the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Surendra Paswan, 33, of Kabilasi-8, and 18-year-old Bablu Kumar of Malangwa Municipality-6, travelling as pillion rider and passenger respectively, sustained serious injuries. They were referred to Janakpur for further treatment after initial care in Malangwa.

Both motorcycles were damaged in the collision. Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prasad Gautam said preliminary investigation suggested excessive speed may have caused the crash, while further investigation is underway.
