RAUTAHAT, FEBRUARY 12

Two persons were injured when they were assaulted by a group of men over a dispute in Rautahat's Gaur Municipality last night. Anil Das and his brother, Suresh Das, were injured when they were attacked by Ramsogarath Paswan, 55, and his kin in Sisawa village in Gaur-7.

The attack followed after Ramasogarath tried to break into the house of a woman at night. According to village sources, Ramsogarath had been stalking the woman who has been living alone in her home with her four kids ever since her husband went abroad for employment about four years ago.

As per sources, the woman had phoned up her brothers and called them for help last night after Ramsogarath attempted to enter her home with malicious intention.

When the woman's brother Anil and Suresh arrived to her rescue and protested against Ramsogarath's attempts, the latter, with his kin - Bisu Pasawan, Rajan Paswan and Bikas Paswan - assaulted the two brothers by charging them with knives. The Das duo has received multiple injuries all over their body and are said to be undergoing treatment at Gaur Hospital.

Police said search for the persons involved in the attack was on. "They've fled after the incident," said SP Siddhi Bikram Shah.

Meanwhile, the kin of the woman have sought stern punishment against the man, along with his aides, trying to take advantage of the woman staying alone at her home with her kids.
