Locals picketed Udayapur district court today seeking justice over a land fraud case.

The locals of Durga Tole in Triyuga Municipality have long been agitating for the past few days in connection with a land fraud case in which Ashok Kumar Sah managed to bring a land plot of 10 dhur belonging to Sanju Adhikari under his own name by colluding with the staff at the Land Revenue Office and presenting forged documents.

Today, the agitated locals picketed the court for about two hours in the afternoon.

Though Ward No 12 Triyuga Municipality Chairperson Jaya Bikram Rai had filed an FIR at the district police office in July itself seeking action against Sah for the latter’s role in forging documents bearing his signature, police haven’t taken any action so far in relation to the FIR.

A case related to the land fraud is sub-judice at the court. “It was a clear case of fraud as the land plot that appears to belong to an Ashok Kumar as per the recent document has been ours for ages,” said Sanju’s husband Indra Bahadur.
