Udaypur incident mastermind held

GAIGHAT: Udaypur Police have detained Shiva Rai, a cadre of Kirant Janawadi Workers Party, the main culprit in the incident of torching two buses here on Friday. According to DSP Manoj Yadav, Rai was arrested from his rented room at Sangam Tole in Triyuga Municipality after the police received a tip-off form three KJWP cadres detained on the charge of torching vehicles. After an interrogation, Rai confessed that he had masterminded the incident. He also revealed that he had asked his friends to fire buses with two gallons of petrol in Chure forest.

Rai also informed that he had hidden his three accomplices in his room for three days prior to the incident. In a press statement issued by Workers in Sunsari, the party has called an indefinite Udaypur strike since last Friday.

The organisation has warned of severe punishment to those who defy bandh. KJWP has also warned of violent and decisive protest if its Area In-charge Jeevan Rai alias Dharti was not freed unconditionally, according to the statement.
