UDMF lawmakers continue House boycott

KATHMANDU: The United Democratic Madhesi Front, an alliance of various Madhes-centric parties, has boycotted today's parliament meeting.

Lawmaker Dimpal Kumari Jha, speaking in the outset of the meeting from the UDMF side, urged the government to form a probe committee to investigate into Saptari and Kanchanpur incidents occurred some days back.

She blamed police brutality for human casualties in the Saptari incident. She objected as the constitution amendment work schedule was also not introduced in today's meeting as well.

Lawmaker Jha added that the election process was forwarded instead of constitution amendment process, adding that it was to displease the UDMF by spreading salt in wound.

She urged the Speaker to coordinate to resolve the issues through dialogue as they were willing to resolve all issues through talks.

Soon after Jha's remarks UDMF lawmakers boycotted the House meeting and walked out.
