RAJBIRAJ: CPN-UML has emerged victorious in Saptakoshi Municipality of Saptari district in the third phase of local level elections in Province 2.

The CPN-UML candidate Uttam Sharma has been elected to the post of Mayor with 3,029 votes. His  rival Dhruba Karki of CPN Maoist Centre got 1,883 votes, according to Returning Officer Rajendra Lamsal.

Similarly, Asha Chaudhary of the UML got victorious to the post of Deputy Mayor receiving 3,226 votes.

The third phase of local level elections were held in eight districts of Province 2 including Saptari.
