UN to implement global fund programme for AIDS

Kathmandu, May 23:
The UN System in Nepal, with its 17 implementing partners will implement its Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria funded-projects in six districts of Nepal soon. The districts are Acham, Banke, Chitwan, Doti, Jhapa and Rupendehi. “Project activities will start as soon as funds are made available to UNDP, which acts as the Management Support Agency (MSA),” stated a press release issued here today by the UN system in Nepal. “GFATM portfolio manager Taufiqur Rahman, in a recent mission to Nepal shored up arrangements with the Ministry of Health and UNDP to speed up disbursement of funds.”
