US, EU help sought to ease supply situation
KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey on Thursday sought help of the United States and European Countries to end the ongoing disruption of essential supplies to Nepal. In a meeting with the ambassadors and heads of mission of the US, Germany, the UK, France, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, Norway and the EU Delegation to Nepal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pandey said a humanitarian crisis was looming as hospitals, schools and common public life have been hit severely due to disruptions at the Nepal-India border. According to MoFA officials, Minister Pandey appraised the envoys that the government was always ready to accommodate the genuine demands of the agitating forces in the new constitution through dialogue and the spirit of compromise.
