Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand today expressed confidence that the Millennium Challenge Corporation compact ratified by the Parliament would contribute to prosperity and economic development of the country.

Inaugurating the 63rd Annual General Meeting of Bhairahwa chapter of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rupandehi, Home Minister Khand assured that American troops would not come to Nepal because of the approval of the MCC compact from the Parliament. He said that the government would not do anything that would affect country's sovereignty and national integrity.

Khand said that MCC compact would be a milestone in exporting electricity and uplifting the national economy hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minister Khand said that the government had accorded top priority to receive air route for the operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport and its security in Bhairahawa.
