More than 43,000 people have registered their details with photographs for voter identity cards in Rautahat.

As many as 43,580 people have filled out forms in the last five months in the district.

District Election Officer Chhotelal Das said 16,669 people of 18 local levels had completed the process for the voter identity card under the voter name list collection special programme.

He said that voters had completed the further process and got their photos clicked at the District Administration Office, Gaur, District Election Office, Gaur, Area Administration Office, Garuda and Area Administration Office, Chandrapur.

Das informed that as many as 9,564 had registered their names at District Election Office, 4,834 at District Administration Office, 4,878 at Area Administration Office, Guruda, and 7,621 at Area Administration Office, Chandrapur.

People have also thronged the district administration office for citizenship cards.

According to District Administration Office, Gaur, as many as 43,580 names with photographs have been collected from the offices.

The election office will verify the name list and prepare the final list before the election date is confirmed.

The name lists of people who have registered their details in Rautahat will be transferred to their respective districts.
