Voting delayed by half an hour in Saptari

SIRAHA: Votes casting under the second phase of the provincial and parliamentary election started late in most of the polling stations of Saptari district today.

The voting was delayed by 30-45 minutes in most of the polling centres. The casting of votes, however, is going on smoothly in four constituencies with 221 polling stations and 436 polling centres, said Chief District Officer Shree Krishna Shrestha.

According to him, the polls had started at 7:30 am in most of the centres.

As many as 60 parliamentary candidates and 120 provincial candidates are contesting the election for four parliamentary seats and eight provincial seats from Saptari dsitrict.

There are 344,370 voters in the district
