Water level of Saptakoshi continues to rise
SUNSARI: The constant downpour in the eastern-hilly region has resulted in this year’s highest water level of Saptakoshi River in Sunsari district.
As of 10:00 am today, the water level of the river was recorded at 245,845 cusecs.
According to District Police Office, Sunsari, 35 out of 56 gates of Koshi barrage have been opened as the flow of water in the river has been continuously increasing. The control room at the barrage issued an alert by flashing red light on Friday indicating danger.
Meanwhile, the locals around Koshi barrage have been living in fear for the past few days as rain continues to fall incessantly.
