JAJARKOT: Many drinking water projects in the district, which began under the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank two years ago, are still in limbo.

Delay in starting construction work and freezing of the apportioned budget due to irregularities have made the projects uncertain. The projects were launched in 28 water-starved VDCs in the district. Eighteen of the the projects have reached planning stage, while eight such projects are yet to be started.

Community Water Project had sanctioned Rs 207 million and had handed over the responsibility of commissioning 41 such projects to 12 non-government organisations.The projects are yet to make any tangible progress.
