KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 05

Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned people residing in high mountainous and hilly regions to apply caution as weather in the next 24 hours could get harsh with cold.

Currently, the country is witnessing western low pressure system as a result of which western side of the country, including Pokhara, is receiving rainfall or snowfall. The present weather condition is generally cloudy in Sudurpashchim, Karnali, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces and partially cloudy in Bagmati Province.

The bulletin issued by MFD shared that the general weather today is partly to generally cloudy throughout the country.

Many places of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces and some places of Province 1 and Bagmati Province can get light to moderate rain with light to moderate snowfall at many places of the high mountainous region, during the daytime. It would remain so in the night as well with chances of light rain at few places of Province 1 and many places of hilly region of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali Provinces and Province 7. Also, there are chances of light to moderate snowfall at many places of the high mountainous region.

Conditions at high mountainous region of Sudurpashchim, including Bajura, Doti, Darchula are heavily impacted by today's snowfall while daily lives of people have been made difficult.

The lowest minimum temperatures at present are at Jumla with 0.5 degree Celsius, Dadeldhura with 2 degrees Celsius, and Kathmandu with 3.5 degrees Celsius.
