KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 27

Weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region of the country due to the influence of the Westerly wind with chances of light rain accompanied by thunder at some places.

According to the weather forecast bulletin issued by the Meteorological Forecasting Division, apart from the hilly areas, rest of the places will be mainly fair with chances of light snowfall at few places of the high mountainous region, today and tonight.

The winter this year has not seen heavy rain and the chances of occurring has not been foretold yet.

The above charts shows the annual accumulated rainfall and winter rainfall throughout the country. The data is more drastic in the chart showing winter rainfall monitoring, where last year's average daily accumulated precipitation was above 125 millimetres while the same this winter is below 15 millimetres.

Meanwhile, Tarai regions were still covered in light fog in the morning today. The MFD shared that the fog will lift by the day, however, necessary caution must be applied.

The minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley was recorded 12.5 degrees Celsius today with maximum temperature 24.7 degrees Celsius.

The lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Jumla with 0.9 degrees Celsius.
