The whereabouts of three missing girls of Chandrapur Municipality, in Rautahat, remains unknown. They went missing two weeks ago.
Saraswoti Pariyar, 12, and her sister Rojina, 9, along with their friend Sisam Rai, 13, of Judibela in the municipality went missing on July 27. Their kin lodged a complaint with the Area Police Office, Chandrapur last Monday.
The Pariyar sisters had left for their eldest sister’s house in Gaidatar of Chandrapur, on July 25. “They are learnt to have left for home from their sister’s house on July 27,” said the girls’ uncle Krishna Bahadur Nepali of Hariharpurgadi Rural Municipality in Sindhuli.
According to Nepali, they lodged a complaint with police with the photographs of the girls. The girls’ father is physically disabled and cannot move, whereas their mother is in Dubai, the UAE, for employment.
Police said search for the missing is on. “The girls’ family is poor. They didn’t reach us immediately after the girls went missing. We are searching for them,” he said.
As for the 13-year-old, police said the girl could have gone to Kathmandu. “It’s been learnt that she had been staying with her grandmother after her mother passed away and her father opted for second marriage. She had also studied there for some time earlier,” said police.
DSP Dhakal said the photos of the girls had been sent to police units across the country to find them.
