Woman, kids handed over to family
Rautahat, January 5:
Maiti Nepal yesterday handed over a woman, who had eloped with an 18-year-old boy along with her two children and reached Gaur on Saturday, to her family.
The Maiti Nepal, Gaur office said, Sekh Samsung, a resident of Rajpur Pharhadawa village development committee-7, had fled away with the woman — his love for whom he worked as a domestic helper at Ganeshsthan of Kathmandu — with her 16-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter and reached Gaur.
When the Maiti Nepal officials intervened them the woman said she came to visit Gaur and that she was going to marry Samsung very soon, Chandra Acharya, chief of the Maiti Nepal, Gaur office, said, adding, “but we called her husband in Kathmandu and handed over her and her two children to him.” Samsung has been released after a day’s police custody, Acharya said.
Meanwhile, the Maiti Nepal rescued a 13-year-old girl who was being taken to India in the pretence of marrying an Indian.
Raj Singh Rajput of Sitamadhi, India, was taking her to India. Garuda-based police office handed her over to her family.
