WWF conservation award
Kathmandu: The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Nepal Programme today awarded seven institutions and three individuals with the Abraham Conservation Award of the Year 2004 in recognition of the contribution of conservationists and grassroots institutions to nature conservation. Satyalung Mother Group, Tapethok VDC of Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, Phortse Village of Solukhumbu, Royal Chitwan National Park and Purano Gorakh Gana, Ganchhen Menk-hang Service Centre of Phoksundo, Dolpa, Youth in Anti-poaching Operation Awareness Campaign of Nawalparasi, and Gauri Mahila community forest group, Bardia, have been awarded. Hari P Neupane of Bhojpur, Dawa Tshering Sherpa of Kanchenjunga, and Pun-am Lama of Thonche, have been aw-arded for individual contributions. — HNS
