Minister Begam refuses to apologise
KATHMANDU: State Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, Karima Begam, who has been in the centre of controversy over her misbehaviour with the Parsa CDO on Monday said she felt bad about the incident but made it clear that she was not apologising over her action.
In a press meet organised at the Madhesi Media House in Anamnagar on Monday Begam said she is filing a writ against the Parsa CDO under Defamation Act within five days.
“If a female minister is not safe in the country how would the state guarantee the security of females in the country,” said a furious Begam. She clarified that she had to resort to the action as the CDO showed disrespect for the minister only because she represents the Madhesi community.
Begam said that she had no power lust and would resign from the post if her party, Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic, wanted her to do so.
