MJF set to unleash 2nd phase protests

KATHMANDU: Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (MJF) announced the second phase of protest programmes against the government's failure to implement of the previous agreements with government.

Organising a press conference in in Balkumari, Lalitpur on Thursday, chairman of MJF Upendra Yadav announced a fresh series of protest programmes from March 18 to April 9.

Speaking in the conference Yadav also rejected the idea of promulgating a brief constitution and stressed for a complete constitution as per the mandate of the constituent assembly election.

Yadav alleged that the ruling parties were conspiring against federalism and inclusiveness and demanded state restructuring in a rational and practical manner.

The party announced a Terai bandh on April 8 and 9 and protest rallies throughout the Terai district headquarters from March 18 to 22. It would greet the Prime Minister with black flags on March 29. A torch rally would also be held in the Terai district from April 4 to 7.
