The sacred Saka Dawa festival began on May 17, marking a month of prayer, peace, compassion, and spiritual devotion for Buddhists around the world. During this holy period, devotees visit monasteries and stupas, light butter lamps, offer prayers, perform acts of kindness, and celebrate the teachings, enlightenment, and parinirvana of Lord Buddha.

Captured from above, the peaceful beauty of Boudhanath Stupa shines as thousands gather in faith and devotion during this sacred Buddhist month.
