KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 11

Nepali AI company Ting Ting has marked a major milestone for the country's technology sector by representing Nepal as the sole startup at Web Summit Qatar 2026, one of the world's largest global tech gatherings.

The four-day summit in Doha brought together over 1,600 startups from 120 countries and more than 700 international investors. Ting Ting's selection followed a rigorous global vetting process and was based on the technical sophistication of its proprietary "RIRI" voice engine and its AI-powered "Understanding Engine," developed entirely in Nepal.

Founded less than a year ago, Ting Ting has built its technology under a "Made in Nepal, for the world" philosophy. The company has already deployed its systems locally across major banks, ISPs and government institutions, managing complex communication infrastructures before expanding globally, according to the press release issued by the company.

At the Startup Showcase, Director of Engineering Anjelika Sah presented the company's technology and vision, highlighting expansion plans beyond Nepali into regional and international languages. The summit enabled high-level engagement with global investors and partners, reflecting growing international demand for AI solutions designed for complex, low-resource linguistic environments.

The company said its participation signals a broader shift in Nepal's tech ecosystem - from consuming foreign technology to building export-ready AI infrastructure domestically.
