Ace, Bern Hardt, VS Niketan in quarters
KATHMANDU: Ace, VS Niketan and Bern Hardt School advanced to the boys’ section quarter-finals of the seventh Prime Cup Under-19 (+2) Basketball Championship here today.
Ace hammered Whitefield 57-20 riding on Sonam Sherpa’s 17 points while Bern Hardt saw off National Campus 44-29 with Bishesh Shrestha contributing 13 points for the winners.
VS Niketan did not have their match today but still advanced following Thursday’s favourable results. Two boys’ section matches — Gyanodaya vs Galaxy and Campion vs White House — scheduled for today did not take place as the teams were already out of contention.
In the boys’ quarter-finals, hosts Prime will take on VS Niketan, Bern Hardt will meet Golden Gate ‘B’, CPS will face Ullens and Ace are up against Golden Gate ‘A’.
In the girls’ section, Babita Khoraja Pun netted 10 points as hosts Prime defeated Xavier International 23-11 while Orient saw off NCCS 21-10 riding on 12 points from Nisha. Four teams had already booked their places in the semi-finals.
Hosts Prime will play National Campus and Xavier International will take on White House for places in the final.
